The play is about an Indian heiress that grew up in The Bahamas after her family migrated here in the 1930’s. Because she grew up here, she adopted many if not all of our Bahamian culture. However with her parents being of Indian descent they were furious when they learned of her decision to marry outside of her culture.
Her decision to marry a famous well-known lawyer and upcoming Politian evokes so much passion and hostility in her family that she is given an ultimatum. Either she will marry the man that they had pre-arranged for her who is of Indian descent or she will have no choice but to be disowned and disinherited from the family fortune.
Of course, in this love tale, love has no bounds and conquers all. She decides to move forward with her decision to marry the Bahamian politician. However, like every human-being he has a lot of skeletons in his closet and she is not prepared or aware of what is to come. Being blinded and naive by the enchanted persona that he puts on she cannot see the indiscretions that he possess right before her eyes. Her hind sight is 20/20 as the vision of love surrounds and haze her judgement.
