MMASC Celebrates Young Artists with opening
The NAGB's Mixed Media Art Summer Camp would like to invite you to join us for its second annual MMASC 2018 Exhibition Opening and it's happening later today!  This year's theme, "Back to da Island" was an homage to the remarkable craft legacy of our Family Islands.

Sustainability as an art-form
This year's "Double Dutch" moves into its seventh iteration with "Hot Water." Opening on Thursday, August 23rd, the environmental and sustainably-focused project sets its eyes on Ragged Island and provides a moment for the collaborative meeting of two collectives, Bahamian Expo 2020 and the Plastico Fantastico Collective.

Off the wall and into the 3rd Dimension
The NAGB is pleased to announce the 10-Year Survey of contemporary artist Lavar Munroe. Exhibiting over 50 works created between 2008-2018, the exhibition hones in on the evolution of Munroe's practice and it's materiality - moving off the wall and into a richer dimensionality.
Take the journey with us!
"They only know me when they need me..."
The NAGB is excited to announce that our "Open Call for Potcakes" will support the works of students, novice artists and professional creatives in an eclectic display of our favorite Bahamian breed.

Rebirth: Field Notes on Loss and Belonging

Our summer intern, Ethan Knowles, continues his fictional writing as an attempt to draw out the memories of Ragged Island's destruction after Hurricane Irma. Through the eye of a young child, he encourages a way for us to begin to deal with the trauma of loss, devastation and reclamation of cultural identity. Knowles is writing a 4-part series to coincide with the opening of "Double Dutch: Hot Water" on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018.
