NASSAU, Bahamas — Following the arrest in Washington, DC, of Haitian-Bahamian national, Edward Israel Saintil, on charges of bribing Bahamas immigration officials to furnish Bahamian work permits to facilitate the granting of US B-1/B-2 visitor visas to Haitian nationals through the American embassy in Nassau, the current Immigration Department deputy director, Fausteen Major-Smith, has also been directly implicated in accepting bribes directly from Saintil, an FBI affidavit clearly spells out.
