BTVI Presents Proceeds to Sister-Sister Breast Cancer Support Group

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) recently raised funds to assist the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group, a non-profit charitable group for women diagnosed with breast cancer.

During the event, dubbed Pink Wednesday, students, staff and faculty teamed up in the fight against breast cancer.  Coordinated by the Student Affairs Department, it was a community service event to bring awareness to the prevalence of breast cancer, early detection and the battle against the deadly disease.

BTVI’s Manager and Consultant, Dr. Iva Dahl, recently made the presentation to the president of the Sister Sister Breast Cancer Group, Mrs. Andrea Sweeting. Dr. Dahl congratulated the group on the great work they’re doing to educate people about the disease and expressed continued support on BTVI’s behalf.

Shown in the photo from left to right are Mrs. Raquel Bethel, BTVI’s Student Affairs Coordinator, Mrs. Sweeting and Dr. Dahl.
