NAGB Maintenance Closure
The NAGB will be closed for maintenance during the following days: April 16th - 19th, 2019. While we will also be closed for Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Monday (April 21st and 22nd), the NAGB will be OPEN on Saturday, April 20th for holiday visits with family and friends. We reopen on Tuesday, April 23rd at 10 a.m.

Easter ARTernoon: Egg Mania
 
This year the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is taking its annual Easter ARTernoon to a whole level with Egg Mania, a fun, creative, exciting morning of art, craft and egg hunting! On Saturday, April 20th,  2019, children will search for and gather as many of our 700 hidden eggs as they can find, receive a craft kit and Popeye’s food voucher and for those who find the golden eggs or gather the most eggs, there are fabulous prizes with a special surprise inside. All of this Easter fun is divided into two sessions for different age groups — 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. for 2–7 yrs and 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. for 8 yrs and up. Snacks are provided and children must be accompanied by an adult.  
The NAGB's ARTernoons are for children of all ages and includes all activities, food and drinks for a low fee of $12.00. Kids Club members are free. To register go to https://forms.gle/V1v8ZC1M6vw5HEPn9.

Amos Ferguson's "Woman Reclining on Sofa"

The history of the reclining nude in art history is ripe territory for investigations and responses from artists the world over, so it is no surprise that our beloved intuitive artist Amos Ferguson, and his positioning makes things all the more interesting - particular because this lady isn’t nude at all! One of his earlier works in the D’Aguilar Art Foundation Collection, Ferguson was inspired to paint the reclined lady, with her decadent gown and pearls, because of imagery he saw during his time painting homes in Lyford Cay.

The NAGB presents NE9 Vignettes, presenting short videos of artists whose works are supported in "The Fruit and The Seed." Cydne Coleby speaks about her two collage works that comprise "The God Called Self" series, which attempt to work through self-care, love and loss.
