Dec 5, 2013 - We're officially in December, probably the busiest month for Bahamian Art & Culture!
Here are a few highlights: We feature stories on Bahamians John Cox at Basel, John Beadle in Martinique, Krista Thompson winning an award, Ryan Lightbourn on his new film, Tada on her new album, Jonathan Bethel on Potcake, and a new Artist Profile on Angelika Wallace-Whitfield. Opening tonight is the much anticipated Bahamas International Film Festival with 108 films from 32 countries and also Angelika Wallace-Whitfield's "Father Knowledge/Mother Tongue" at Doongalik Studios Art Gallery.
This week also sees exhibitions by Bahamians Zoë Lady Maynard & Celeste Williams as well as Friday Jazz at Jacaranda.
Opening next week are two photography exhibitions by veteran master photographer Roland Rose and filmmaker Tyler Johnston, respectively. There is also an art exhibition by the Salus Project, the annual Christmas Dance performance by Dance Bahamas School, the ever expanding Jr. Junkanoo, and the annual Christmas Concert at Ebenezer Methodist.
