The figure represented the dollar value of loans awarded by the Education Loan Authority - ironically headed up by Emmanuel who serves as chairman.

PM Touts $8 Billion in International Investments |
Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis announced that $8 billion in international investments have been approved as at May 2019.
That amount includes the $100 million Carnival Cruise Port for Grand Bahama, and new developments throughout the island chain, he said.

Minister Rolle Touts MOYSC Role in Nation Building, and Indicates Need in the Family Islands |
During her Contribution to the 2019/2020 Budget Debate on June 12, 2019 Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture the Hon. Lanisha Rolle said that her Ministry forms part of a strong foundation upon which The Bahamas stands.
“Firstly, it is the pivotal nexus bearing responsibility for overseeing the development of our most precious resource, our youth; second, the Ministry facilitates the growth and development of sports and recreation to the benefit of our people, which lends itself to magnifying the reputation of our country; and third, we exist to facilitate the promotion and preservation of the rich and diverse expressions of Bahamian culture,” Minister Rolle said in the House of Assembly.

Titan Funds Offer to Hit Family Islands Next Week, Interest High in Nassau with 3 Weeks+ to Go |
Investar Securities Ltd. said today interest from residents in the Family Islands in the Titan Funds introduced in Nassau this week has prompted the team to speed up plans to take subscription offers to Grand Bahama, Abaco, Eleuthera, Exuma and other Family Islands.
Investar launched two investment funds June 3, the Titan Balanced Fund with minimum first investment of $500 for 100 shares at $5 each and the Titan Fixed Income Fund, aimed at the accredited investors, including institutional investors. Interest in both funds was piqued by the inclusion of a limited interest in Playtech Systems Ltd., parent company of Island Luck, allowing fund participants to share in the success of the entertainment and gaming company widely recognized as one of the most impressive business success stories of The Bahamas. |
| Palm Cay Hosts Real Estate Agents to final phase of the Anchorage Project |
This past Wednesday real estate companies were invited to the launch of Palm Cay’s Phase V Anchorage which is the final 8 units of the very popular Anchorage condominium project within the Palm Cay resort community. According to General Manager Rob Batchelor, there are 48 Anchorage condominiums of which approximately 80% have been sold to Bahamians who have been looking to either downsize or buy a rental investment property.
Batchelor says “We are very pleased with the success of the Anchorage sales and recognize the important role the real estate community has played in believing in our product and having the confidence to bring their clients to our community.

The Cabinet Office announces for general information that Her Excellency, the Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the Most Honourable Dame Marguerite Pindling, ON, GCMG will be demitting office on 28th June 2019. Dame Marguerite served as Governor General from 8th July 2014.

Dean of Construction Trades and Workforce Development, Alexander Darville; Chair of Information Technology, Anthony Ramtulla and Chair of Math, Archilene O’Brien, were presenters at the fourth annual international conference on technical vocational education and training (TVET) held recently in Jamaica.
