Eight ladies speak their piece about being women, being "colored", and staying alive. Their monologues and scenes are twenty-one poems that deal with love, loss, courage, despair, anger, humour, and joy. Each lady wears a colour, and their voices make a prism that shines light on what it means to live full, joyful lives in a world that is still plagued with racism, sexism, cruelty and violence.
