From PMH chief pharmacist Dr Marvin Smith:
"Please be advised that there has been a global recall of over 30 companies versions of Valsartan and Valsartan/HCTZ due to contaminants in the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient. This has affected 2 of the manufacturers that we stock, and as such, we have removed and quarantined the Teva and Solco brands from our shelves until we receive formal confirmation concerning our batches.
The products affected include:
Valsartan/HCTZ 160/12.5
Valsartan/HCTZ 320/25
Valsartan 160mg .
The Pharmacy will keep you updated as we receive additional information.”
He also indicated when asked that It does not include the Novartis brand...but it does include their Sandoz version. The 80mg tablets are fine.
Please contact Dr. Smith if you have additional questions.
