Ain't Got No More Lip: A Film About Conch
The Queen Conch is vital to the Bahamas, both culturally and economically. Unfortunately, scientific research is showing how this population is right on the brink of collapse. This video looks at this research by the organization Community Conch in Exuma. It shows how they, and other Bahamians are trying to get this warning out there to the public and suggests some of preserving this species and creating a sustainable industry.

Help our little island orchestra get to New York.
Short Summary
I hope you liked our little Christmas video. Sorry it's over a year old, but we are still working on a clip from the 2012 concert.
My name is Stephanie and after 3 years of volunteering, I quit my insurance career to work with this youth orchestra full time.
The Bahamas has always been a melting pot of musical talent, but with proper training and motivation, the kids at The Bahamas Music Conservatory have progressed in leaps and bounds. Their hard work has paid off and after 18 months of intense study, they passed auditions at a level that takes an average of 3 years to prepare for. The average age of our orchestra members is 9.
We are planning a trip for 30 of our top students to visit New York to participate in workshops with the New York Philharmonic; exchange with a New York City youth orchestra; tour Carnegie Hall and perform in a concert at a local church.
Without community support, our students wouldn't be able to experience the zenith of their art in New York.

With More than forty years of gifted experience in art, Bahamian artist Anthony “Big Mo” Morley still takes pleasure in painting the beauty of the Bahamas. He unveiled his newest work “Bahamas on Canvas” last Saturday at the Gallery at Old Fort Bay.
“This exhibit is highlighting the islands of the Bahamas: the beaches, the people, the landscape and everything Bahamas. The pieces are oil on canvas and the largest piece will be about 40 by 70. Those are paintings of flamingos, and there are the small ones which are 8 by 10. There is something for everyone to see,” said Mr Morley.
The “Bahamas On Canvas” exhibit is Mr Morley’s first solo show in two years. It will be on display for the rest of the week. Earlier this year he participated in an exhibit in Hope Town, Abaco. Last Summer he displayed work with the National Trust, in Abaco as well.

Wholeness Lifestyle Bahamas - April Newsletter: Spring Cleaning
You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present.
-Jan Glidewell
Spring Cleaning
People like “stuff”. We tend to hold onto it year after year. We save and stock up on things that we don’t know what to do with anymore. Maybe we keep things because they hold precious memories of days gone by, or they remind us of our parents, grandparents, past loves or childhood.
To part with these precious possessions seems out of the question. There is a saying that goes, “You have to get rid of the old to make way for the new.”
If you are feeling stuck or stagnant in your life, try spring-cleaning.
Throw out some of that stuff, say goodbye to your past and welcome the new energy of your happy, healthy future. Try these three ideas:
